Imaginary Tea Stop

What would you like to see in near the train station? DS4SI created a data collection tool to ask residents about their desires for the areas near the Four Corners/ Geneva and Upham's Corner train stations. This Imaginary Tea Stop was both a tool and a site-specific desire by community members.

Long time Four Corners resident and active community leader, Marilyn Forman, coined the name "Tea Stop" for an idea that encapsulates a desire that many people share. This could take the form of a cart--run by local merchants--selling refreshments, newspapers, train tickets, etc. It could also expand to larger gathering space that could include outdoor cafe seating for nearby restaurants, and informal gathering space for musicians, residents and youth.

Big thank you to our ever ready design intern, Jee Yoon Choi! And thank you to Myles O'Brien and Liam Van Vleet for teaming up with us to design and fabricate!

For more information about the project see our Creative Placemaking Recommendations IMPLEMENTATION PLAN . This project was funded by the Fairmount/Indigo Line CDC Collaborative.
