Jules Faña
Jules Faña (they/them) is a queer and gender-fluid Afro-Caribbean designer, artist, and community organizer. Their multi-disciplinary creative background includes graphic design, interior & surface design, textiles, photography, and jewelry making. Their creative process is largely inspired by their practices in ancestral connection & healing, decolonizing, and rest. Their community organizing efforts focus on social justice, disability justice, and collective queer and trans liberation.
The art they are most passionate about is community building through mutual aid care networks, community gatherings, and resource/knowledge sharing. They are imagining creating a third space that is dedicated to offering Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (QTBIPOC) an accessible studio space to dream, create, and resist the systems of oppression that perpetually challenge the ability of artists of color to thrive and live.
